MAŁGORZATA GAMRAT — od października 2013 roku adiunkt w Zakładzie Teorii i Estetyki Muzyki Instytutu Muzykologii Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego, gdzie w ramach grantu „Fuga 2” Narodowego Centrum Nauki realizuje projekt badawczy Pieśni na głos i fortepian Franza Liszta oraz ich transkrypcje fortepianowe jako przykład XIX-wiecznej praktyki hybrydyzacji gatunków i wzajemnego oświetlania się sztuk. Głównym obszarem jej zainteresowań badawczych jest muzyka Franza Liszta i jej interakcje z innymi sztukami (szczególnie z literaturą), kultura francuska i niemiecka XIX wieku oraz metodologia badań interartystycznych. Dotychczasowe prace badawcze prowadziła w Bibliothèque Nationale de France, Archives Nationales, Institut de France w Paryżu, w The Franz Liszt Memorial Museum and Research Centre w Budapeszcie, w Klassik-Stiftung (Goethe- und Schiller-Archiv) w Weimarze oraz w Fondazione Istituto Liszt w Bolonii.

Doktoryzowała się na Uniwersytecie Jagiellońskim i w paryskiej École Pratique des Hautes Études (2012), na podstawie rozprawy Muzyka fortepianowa Franza Liszta w kontekście idei »correspondance des arts«/La musique pour piano de Franz Liszt dans le contexte de l’idée de la correspondance des arts, przygotowanej pod kierunkiem dr hab. Renaty Suchowiejko oraz prof. Catherine Massip. Studia magisterskie ukończyła w bydgoskiej Akademii Muzycznej na podstawie pracy Recepcja formy sonatowej w sonatach na fortepian solo Aleksandra Tansmana (2008) i na Uniwersytecie Toulouse II Le Mirail (Franz Liszt ‘Après une lecture de Dante. Fantasia quasi sonate’. L’influence littéraire sur l’œuvre musicale, 2007). We wrześniu 2011 roku, po otrzymaniu stypendium University College Cork, wzięła czynny udział w warsztatach metodologicznych dla doktorantów, w ramach An International Doctoral Summer School in the Humanities: Comparing, organizowanej przez University College Cork, Irlandia (referat: Programme music — methodological challenges). Do jej zainteresowań należy również twórczość Aleksandra Tansmana, Pawła Kubisza i Dobromiły Jaskot.

Małgorzata Gamrat jest uczestniczką licznych międzynarodowych konferencji naukowych oraz interdyscyplinarnych projektów badawczych, zarówno muzykologicznych, jak i literaturoznawczych, krajowych (m.in. Laboratorium Myśli Muzycznej) i zagranicznych (m.in. Musical Signification Project, dyr. Eero Tarastiego). Bierze także udział w międzynarodowych grantach badawczych, m.in : Od dialektů k literárním jazykům v Evropě/Dès les dialectes aux langues littéraires en l’Europe (Republika Czeska 2012; dyr. L. Martinek), Histoire de l’enseignement de la musique en France (1795–1914), dyr. Cécile Reynaud (Francja 2014–2017), Český a polský strukturalismus a poststrukturalismus — historie a současnost (Slezská univerzita v Opavě, 2015); dyr. Libor Martinek. Jest członkinią stowarzyszeń: Société Française d’Analyse Musicale (Paryż), Society of Dix-Neuviémistes (Exeter), The International Association for Word and Music Studies (Graz) oraz Les Amis d’Alexandre Tansman (Paryż).

Redaktor i sekretarz redakcji „Musicology Today”. Jeden z członków założycieli oraz sekretarz Polskiego Towarzystwa Analizy Muzycznej.

W 2015 roku otrzymała nagrodę im. ks. prof. Hieronima Feichta za książkę Muzyka fortepianowa Franza Liszta z lat 1835–1855 w kontekście idei ‘correspondance des arts’ (Warszawa 2014).

Małgorzata Gamrat opracowała i przygotowała do pierwszego w historii wydania rękopis pieśni Franza Liszta pt. Göttliche Gedanken.

MAŁGORZATA GAMRAT, PhD, starting from October 2013, she is an assistant professor in the Division of Theory and Aesthetics of Music of the Institute of Musicology at the University of Warsaw where, as a part of research grant “Fuga 2” of the National Science Centre she carries out a research project entitled: Franz Liszt’s Lieder and their piano transcriptions as an example of the 19th-century practice of hybridisation of genres and mutual enlightening of arts. The main fields of her academic interests include the music of Franz Liszt and its interactions with other fields of art (especially literature), French and German culture of the 19th century, and the methodology of interdisciplinary research. She carried out her academic research in Bibliothèque Nationale de France, Archives Nationales, Institut de France in Paris, The Franz Liszt Memorial Museum and Research Centre in Budapest, Klassik-Stiftung (Goethe- und Schiller-Archiv) in Weimar, and Fondazione Istituto Liszt in Bologna.

She completed her graduate studies with a double degree from the Jagiellonian University and École Pratique des Hautes Études in Paris on the basis of a doctoral dissertation entitled: Franz Liszt’s piano music in the context of the idea of “correspondance des arts” written under the supervision of professor Renata Suchowiejko and professor Catherine Massip. She received her first MA degree in 2007 from the University of Toulouse II Le Mirail (Franz Liszt ‘Après une lecture de Dante. Fantasia quasi sonate’. L’influence littéraire sur l’œuvre musicale) and her second MA 2008 from the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz on the basis of the thesis entitled The reception of the sonata form in solo piano sonatas by Alexandre Tansman. In September 2011, after receiving a scholarship from the University College Cork, she took active participation in methodological workshops for PhD students (An International Doctoral Summer School in the Humanities: Comparing, organised by University College Cork, Ireland) and presented a paper entitled Programme music — methodological challenges. Her academic interests also include the oeuvres of Alexander Tansman, Paweł Kubisz, and Dobromiła Jaskot.

Małgorzata Gamrat participated in numerous international academic conferences and interdisciplinary research projects in the field of music and literature studies both, in Poland (e.g. Laboratorium Myśli Muzycznej) and abroad (e.g. Musical Signification Project under the supervision of Eero TarastiOd dialektů k literárním jazykům v Evropě, 2012; Český a polský strukturalismus a poststrukturalismus — historie a současnost, 2015 (both supervised by Libor Martinek). She is a member of: Société Française d’Analyse Musicale (Paris), Society of Dix-Neuviémistes (Exeter), The International Association for Word and Music Studies (Graz) and Les Amis d’Alexandre Tansman (Paris).

She is the editorial secretary and editor of “Musicology Today”, and one of founders, as well the general secretary, of Polskie Towarzystwo Analizy Muzycznej (Polish Society for Musical Analysis).

In 2014 she has published her first book entitled: Muzyka fortepianowa Franza Liszta z lat 1835–1855 w kontekście idei ‘correspondance des arts’, and in the next year received a prize of prof. Hieronim Feicht for it.
